Roarke Menzies is a Brooklyn-based performer, composer, producer, DJ and media freelancer.  The son of two acting, voice and theater teachers, Roarke grew up in and around theaters.  Raised in a quasi nomadic fashion, long road trips became familiar activities during which he and his brother spent countless hours entertaining themselves by singing along with and mimicking the various sounds they heard from the car speakers.  Roarke became very serious about choir beginning in the 6th grade.  In high school, performing with multiple acappella ensembles, he became very interested in sample-based music and began using audio software to create instrumental pieces.  While studying Music and Audio Technology at the City College of New York and exploring ways to extend vocal percussion that included handheld micro-cassette recorders, cell phone feedback loops and a toy Fisher Price tape deck, he started collecting pedals starting with the Boss RC-50 loop station.  Since then he's been slowly amassing a small army of stomp boxes and applying his knowledge of audio, synthesis, voice and vocal percussion to develop a highly extended vocal performance medium.
